The Anti-Crush

There comes a time in every girls life where she realizes that a former crush might not be all that he was cracked up to be. For me, it was just the other day.

As a young teen in CT, I had a crush on a backup backup backup goalie for the Hartford Whalers. His name was Daryl Reaugh and I thought he was dreamy. I had a tiny black and white picture of him (cut out of the newspaper no less) that couldn't have been more than 1 inch by 1 inch. And of course, I tacked it up on my bulletin board that was mounted on the wall with the most direct sunlight imaginable. And so it faded. As did my crush. As crushes do.

Fast forward to 2006. Somehow, somewhere I got a link to Daryl Reaugh's blog. I had seen him once back in CT doing the color commentary for hockey for the New England Sports channel. Apparently that parlayed into a gig as the color commentator for the Dallas Stars, where he currently works and maintains a blog.

What a jackass!

So goodbye, Mr. Pompous McMullet with the Glamour Shot pose. I'm putting you, and your glamour shot, out to pasture.
